Cold air enters the fireplace through the bottom vent and is heated between the two layers of stainless steel. Cold air entering through the bottom vent allows the fire to always receive sufficient oxygen. Since more oxygen can reach the fuel source, firewood burns more efficiently than in a traditional fire pit. Air entering the double wall heats up and is pushed onto the fire.
